Immortal

I was listening to one of the evergreen song written by Kavignar Kannadasan today (Song - Unnai Kaanadha Kannum):

Engu Nee Oru Paadhi Naanoru Paadhi

Many poets have attempted this "nee paadhi naan paadhi" theory to portray the intimacy between two souls. But, Kannadasan is always different. Look at the next line:

Edhil Yaar Pirindhaalum Vedhanai Paadhi

Wondering what is so special about it?

It is quite common to write about the helplessness of the living soul. But here, Kavignar says that even the soul that passed away from this world would share the pain with the living soul. Isn't this the immortal love?

Can anyone explain better than this about the essence of immortal love? Do we have any parallel to this genius when it comes to philosophical lyrics?

thats a nice observation, really..
i dont say i follow lyrics to a great extent cos when i listen to music most of my attention is on how the back grounds are arranged and things like that..
but this is really a nice observation!! and yes, i dont think anyone has really explained immortal love any better than this..

True. I too wasn't paying much attention to lyrics for a long long time, until recently. I used to only pay attention to just the melody part. But, having started observing the lyrics, I can't help, but, appreciating some of the gems.

Count me in your club. I also never paid attention to lyrics. Like Raaja to music, kannadasan is the raaja for lyrics (i.e. natural talent, speed etc). MSV was very lucky to have kavignar by his side.
